D.E.A.R Activity

The D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) program was organized at SRS Global School, Meerut with the goal of fostering a love for reading among students while promoting focus and concentration. In today’s world, where distractions are abundant and technology often takes precedence, it is essential to encourage young minds to immerse themselves in the world of books and stories.

During this special event, students were invited to take a break from their daily routines and engage in an uninterrupted reading session. Whether they were reading their favorite books, discovering new genres, or exploring educational content, the D.E.A.R. program created a space where children could appreciate the joy and peace that comes from reading.

Teachers and staff also participated by reading alongside the students, setting an example of how reading can be both an enjoyable and enriching experience. The school library was filled with excitement, as students explored various titles across genres—from fiction to non-fiction, from adventure to fantasy.

The D.E.A.R. program not only aimed at nurturing a passion for reading but also helped students improve their literacy skills, build vocabulary, and enhance their creativity and imagination. Reading encourages critical thinking and empathy, and it empowers children to explore new ideas and worlds beyond their own.

SRS Global School believes that such initiatives contribute to the holistic development of students, teaching them the importance of dedicating time to personal growth and self-improvement. By setting aside time each day for reading, students learn the importance of creating healthy habits that support their academic and personal development.

As part of the ongoing commitment to promoting reading culture, the school plans to organize more D.E.A.R. sessions in the future, inspiring students to embrace reading as a lifelong habit. The event was a huge success, and the enthusiasm shown by the students highlighted how effective such programs can be in making reading a fun, shared experience.

We encourage all parents and caregivers to support their children in their reading journeys and take part in fostering a reading culture at home as well. Together, we can ensure that our students develop a strong foundation in literacy and a lifelong love for learning.
